What does God think about beauty?

Hi beautiful, yes you! There's a beauty God is cultivating inside you. It's a beauty that loves to serve others more than herself, it's a beauty that forgives quickly, loves unconditionally, and does everything without complaining. It's a beauty that trusts God so much that you don't fear tomorrow. It's a beauty that shines brightest in the darkest of places.

So now what, with all this inner beauty talk, do we throw away all our beauty products and shame people who wear them? No, we beautify ourselves by fixing our hearts toward God and cherishing the opportunities we have to serve. We love unselfishly and give as if we were giving unto God himself. There was a precious gift that was given to us that we couldn't afford and it was the very life of a perfect man. This man sacrificed himself, having done no wrong, and bought us back so that we could experience freedom. All he asked us to do is believe in him and turn from our life of sin be baptized and be born again. Born again means you have a new life, another chance, a new way of doing things! This is Jesus! and he paid a price so he could unlock this beautiful new way of doing things inside of you.

This inner beauty means you're someone who loves well, doesn't get easily offended, and doesn't need affirmation from anyone, because you are secure in Christ.

This isn't a post to tell you to throw away your make-up nor is it a post to tell you to hide your outer beauty, but to tell you the greatest thing you could allow him to cultivate is a pure heart that loves God and knows how to love others well. This isn't a post to tell you a list of do's and dont's because the cross of Jesus Christ gave us access to true wisdom through the spirit of God and He knows what will glorify him.

So how do we end this lifelong debate of what God thinks about beauty?

Beauty is not what we wear alone but it's what we become.

He creates beautiful things and transforms our lives to look like him, and isn't that the most beautiful thing of all?

So let's stop this debate and throw out the drama of who wore what. If you're cultivated in true beauty you will have the heart to go to your sister in love. If you are truly cultivated, then you had better let him sort out that issue of jealousy or comparison to make sure you're not judging from a place of being self-righteous, and lastly, if you are truly cultivated in beauty your utmost focus won't be to go around being the beauty police, but that you will look like Christ everywhere you go... compassionate, merciful, prayerful, passionate to love the lost and see them set free. Wow, that's beautiful

Let's end with this...

Let's not be the self-righteous woman out there, quick to judge but not willing to pray.

Let's not be the woman who threw out all her make-up but never gave God her heart.

Let's not judge those who are called to be like Esther in a generation where He can use beauty to bring deliverance to her people.

Let's not be so insecure that we use beauty as a mask when God has given us a purpose and to purpose it all for the MORE! let's cultivate that inner beauty that is willing to trust her God always and in everything she does.

Lets go be beautiful!

“Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.”

‭I Peter‬ ‭3:3-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
